10baseT-interface
With a SECSItoHSMS-Gateway the connection between serial readers
and a host computer can be established via a 10Base-T LAN-network.
Up to 5 Transponder Readers can be run on one gateway.
Each gateway possesses an own IP-address in the LAN-network. Thus
the maximal number of gateways which can be run from a host computer
is limited to the number of free IP-addresses in the network.
HSMS
(High-Speed SECS Message Services) defines the communication between
a host-PC and the SECSItoHSMS-Gateway.The HSMS-Protocol bases on
an existing TCP/IP connection.
It
is possible to operate all gateways connected to the network via
one or also via several host-PC's. But the SECSItoHSMS-Gateway can
only be connected to one host at the same time.
